What the numbers mean
- Recorded cost
- Known remaining personal recordkeeping cost in USD. Not an automatic tax-basis determination. Other currencies need an explicitly supplied USD basis.
- Metal reference
- Known fine content multiplied by the dated market reference. Not a dealer bid, guaranteed sale value or collectible appraisal.
- Metal value minus recorded cost
- Only lots with both a known USD cost and available metal value are compared. Coverage is shown; missing values are never invented.
- Realized gain
- Net recorded sales less allocated known cost. Unknown-cost or unconverted sales are excluded and counted.
- Declared composition
- Catalog or entered content is not proof of authenticity or assay. Gross weight, excluded nonmetal weight and purity are per unit.
